Fire scale extended in Azerbaijanâ€™s Ismayilli region, two helicopters and soldiers involved in extinguishing fire

According to APA, firefighters and vehicles of the firefighting departments of Ismayilli, Agsu, Goychay and Kurdamir regions were sent to Ismayilliâ€™s Geraybeyli and Eyyubbeyli, mountainous villages covered by the fire near Baku-Shamakhi-Yevlakh highway. Two helicopters and soldiers of the civil defense forces were involved in extinguishing the fire.

Six hectares of green area with trees and bushes throughout the banks of Girdiman River burnt out. The mountainous conditions complicate extinguishing the fire, which began at about 9.00 this morning.

Reasons of the fire are not known yet. Officials of the North-West Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Gabala and State Firefighting Service arrived at site.
