APA reports quoting the Emergency Ministry’s website that 23 people have drowned in the water since the beginning of the year. All these cases occurred far from the beach zone, that is, in places, forbidden for swimming.
340 persons who meet with the drowning threat were rescued in 2006 by Emergency Ministry’s State Water Rescue Service in the country’s water basins, 643 – 2007, 369 – 2008, 254 – 2009, 688 – 2010, 132 – 2011 (till July 12). Total number of the rescued is 2426. 95 people drowned last year, 93 of them - swam in the forbidden zones.
