That’s why the periodical shocks are felt hereâ€, Director of the Republic Seismological Service Center Gurban Yetirmishli told APA commenting the occurrence of two aftershocks in Shirvan city. According to him, the quakes in Shirvan city occurred under the influence of subterraneous processes and the earthquake focus: “The intensive quakes hit that territory in 1980s. It doesn’t matter because the quakes occurred today were not feltâ€.
Yetirmishli has not confirmed that the second quake was an autoshock of the first one: “After the quake calms down it will be known which of these quakes was autoshokh i.e. weak one, and forshock - strong oneâ€.
