Ombudspersonâ€™s Officeâ€™s employees meet with Nemat Panahli in detention facility

The Ombudspersonâ€™s Office told APA that during the meeting it was determined that Panahli officially declared the hunger-strike on July 9. He said that the reason of the strike was induced by the facilityâ€™s employees and the sentence concerning him was unfair.

During the research it was also known that Panahli insulted the facilityâ€™s employee and it was accepted to keep him in the penalty isolator for 5 days. At the same time during the talk with the leadership and staff of the institution, they said that they had not use force against the said prisoner and during the search, he expressed dissatisfaction. It was also said that Panahli was allowed to meet with his advocate without restriction, he is under the doctorâ€™s control because he hold a hunger-strike. Now he is in the camera, if he consents, he will be transferred to the medical unit.

It was noted that at the second half of the day he will be examined by endocrinologist and neurologist of the civil hospital. The Ombudspersonâ€™s employees recommended Panahli to stop the hunger-strike.
