USD 127 100 compensation to be paid to families of each crew member killed as a result of plane crash in Afghanistan

The amount of compensation will be about AZN 100 000 (USD 127 100) to the family of each of the killed. The families of crew members from Uzbekistan were brought to Baku and placed in â€œAeroportâ€ hotelâ€, said President of â€œSilk Wayâ€ LLC Holding Zaur Akhundov. According to him, both plane and crew members were insured. The issues on the insurance will be settled after the end of the incidentâ€™s investigation: â€œSilk Wayâ€ has been carrying out flights to Afghanistan for 10 years. The Afghanistan state ensured security of the flights during this periodâ€.

â€œSilk Wayâ€ Air Companyâ€™s director Shamsaddin Mirsalayev said that the companyâ€™s planes have been entering to Afghanistan with a serious schedule: â€œthey were sating to us the time of planeâ€™s entering to Afghanistanâ€.

Mirsalayev said that the last information from dispatcher on crashed plane proves that there were no technical failures in the plane, the crew members were working normally, and shows that there were no attempts to change height.

On July 6, 2011, at about 00.10, while preparing to land in Bagram airport, the communication with IL-76 4K-AZ 55 belonging to Azerbaijanâ€™s Silk Way aviation company suddenly broke off and its view disappeared in radars. According to statement made by Azerbaijan State Civil Aviation Administration, the aircraft collided with unknown object in the air. It is supposed that the aircraft collided with unknown object in the air. Earlier, a representative of the movement "Taliban" Zabibulla Modzhahid told Afghan media that Azerbaijani plane was shot down by Taliban.
