80 African Migrants Feared Drowned off Yemen

Baku – APA. At least 80 African migrants, many of them Ethiopians, are missing and feared dead after their boats capsized off the coast of Yemen, APA reports quoting “The Voice of Americaâ€.
The Reuters news agency, citing Yemen’s interior ministry, says three Somalis on one of the two boats were rescued off the country’s southern coast after the vessel sunk amid high winds.
Many African migrants try to reach Yemen with the hopes of moving on to wealthier parts of the Middle East or to Europe.
Yemen’s state news agency says there are more than a million African migrants living in the country.
Earlier Monday, Yemen’s Interior Ministry ordered the deportation of 388 mostly Ethiopian migrants.
