Baku. Viktoria Dementyeva-APA. “Being a member of the UN Security Council Azerbaijan is closely observing and can not stay indifferent to the processes ongoing in the Middle East,” spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev told journalists, APA reports.
He said the settlement of Middle East conflict, situation in the region will be discussed during the visit of the delegation led by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov to Israel and Palestine.
“We are interested in the reduction of tension in the region. It is early to say whether Iran issue will be discussed during the visit or not. Azerbaijan has always supported Palestinian people, made humanitarian aids to them. We want the Middle East conflict to be solved taking into account the interests of both sides,” he said.
Elman Abdullayev said no agreement would be signed during the Middle East visit of the Foreign Minister.
“There is no decision on the opening of Azerbaijani embassies in these countries,” he said.
