Head of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration: â€œThere are external forces wishing to harm the good neighborly relations between Azerbaijan and Iranâ€

Ali Larijani said that Iran always wishes the protection of the stability, sovereignty and independence of Azerbaijan, as well as the happiness and progress of the people of this country: “Our friendship with the Azerbaijani people is strong. Iran is in favor of the further expansion of relations and cooperation between the two countries basing on mutual respect and common interests. The regional countries are fully capable of solving their problems through close cooperation. In this sense, Iran reiterates its willingness to solve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict”.

In his turn, expressing his satisfaction with the visit, Ramiz Mehdiyev described Iran as a friendly and brotherly country of Azerbaijan: “The people of Azerbaijan and Iran are linked with deep historical roots and the history of Azerbaijan can be considered an important part of the overall history of Iran. The historic, cultural, religious and geographical commonness, great potential and interests have paved the way for further expansion of mutual relations and this must be used.”

The Head of the Presidential Administration underlined that there are external forces wishing to harm the good neighborly and friendly relations between the two Muslim countries: “We must think about how to remove them and to further strengthen the friendly ties between the two countries.”
