The Center told APA that SAM director Farhad Mammadov made a speech on “Strategic Vision of the Region and Southern Corridor”, MP Asim Mollazadeh on “Development in energy sector, regional and international impacts", leading scientific worker of economic analysis and globalization affairs department Gulmira Rzayeva on “Special updating in TANAP / Shah Deniz / Nabucco West / TAP".
Farhad Mammadov said that energy problems remain vital in Azerbaijan, like all over the world: “It so happened that speaking of Azerbaijan one remembers oil, Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Energy, especially oil factor has been playing a decisive role in the fate of the Azerbaijani people and state for the last 160 years. However, rich natural resources of our country became the wealth of Azerbaijan and were designated for its development only 22 years ago, after Azerbaijan regained its independence.”
Farhad Mammadov said that the country exported 212,795,576 tonnes of oil from June 1, 2006 till April 1, 2013: “After the determination of export routes, the main issue for Azerbaijan was to export oil with the highest price and establish a transparent structure to collect funds. For this purpose, the State Oil Fund was established in 2001. At first, the Fund’s assets were $270 million, while now have reached $34,325 billion.”
