Azerbaijani Foreign Minister to pay official visit to Israel and Palestine for the first time

Baku. Anakhanum Hidayatova – APA. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will pay a four-day visit to Israel on April 21 for the first time.

The Foreign Minister will hold several meetings with Israeli officials, APA reports quoting “IzRus”. The sides will discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations, issues on Iran and Turkey. Elmar Mammadyarov will first meet head of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Avigdor Lieberman. Following this, Mammadyarov will go to Ramallah to meet the leadership of Palestine State.

Elmar Mammadyarov’s meeting with Shimon Peres and Deputy Foreign Minister Ze'ev Elkin is scheduled for April 22. After visiting "Yad Vashem" memorial complex, the Foreign Minister will meet the leadership of Azerbaijani- Israeli International Association in Tel-Aviv.

On April 23, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister will visit several Israeli companies. On the last day of the visit Elmar Mammadyarov plans to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Following the meeting, Foreign Minister will visit Knesset and also meet with Israel’s Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon.
