APA reports that the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) on the state of human rights in some countries (Turkmenistan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Germany, Canada, etc.) will be discussed and reports will be adopted in the session that will last till May 3.
State of human rights in Azerbaijan will be discussed on April 30 and the report on it will be adopted on May 2.
The state of human rights in Azerbaijan was last discussed at February session of the UN Human Rights Council in 2009. Universal Periodic Review sessions are held three times a year. Each of the session is devoted the review on the 16 countries. The review is made by three co-rapporteurs from three countries. Co-rapporteurs for Azerbaijan are from Maldives, Libya and Peru.
