Astana holds meeting of CIS Foreign Ministers’ Council

Baku. Victoria Dementieva â€“ APA. Meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers’ Council was held in Astana, Kazakhstan.

APA reports that during the event heads of foreign policy offices exchanged view on topical problems of multilateral cooperation in CIS area and issues of international policy of mutual interest.

They considered all issues included in agenda of the meeting, as well as collective cooperation in energy and defense spheres, settlement of crisis situations on foreign borders and financial intelligence.

The draft decisions on declaring 2013 â€œThe Year of protection of ecological culture and environment in CISâ€ and about â€œCultural capitals of the CISâ€ interstate program were approved, several documents on extension of relations in the fields of youth organizations, tourism, sport were agreed at the meeting.

Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov represented Azerbaijan in this event.
