The first meeting of the Technical Committee under the OPEC+ Charter of Cooperation (CoC) was held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
The meeting, hosted by Azerbaijan and chaired by OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais, brought together representatives of 20 oil-producing countries.
Speaking at the event, Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said holding the committee's inaugural meeting in Baku reflects Azerbaijan's growing role in global energy cooperation and its reputation as a reliable and responsible partner within OPEC+.
Haitham Al Ghais emphasized the participants' commitment to fully implementing the Charter's objectives through stronger dialogue with major oil consumers, enhanced cooperation in technology, innovation and investment, and continued support for oil market stability.
The meeting was organized as a follow-up to decisions adopted at the 40th OPEC and non-OPEC Ministerial Meeting held in November 2025, where the framework for implementing the Charter of Cooperation was approved.
