Amendments have been made to the Rules on State Oversight of the Implementation of Children's Rights, APA reports.
President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to this effect.
Under the decree, the Prosecutor's Office shall:
-protect the rights and legitimate interests of children in court, apply to state authorities, and file lawsuits in cases established by law;
-supervise the implementation of laws in criminal cases and administrative offense proceedings involving children in the cases and manner prescribed by law;
-review information provided by guardianship and trusteeship authorities and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population regarding situations where a child's life or health is under immediate threat and take measures provided for by law.
