Azerbaijan is an important partner for Slovakia and one of the key bridges connecting Europe with the South Caucasus and Central Asia, Slovakia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Denisa Saková said at the Azerbaijan-Slovakia Business Forum held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
According to her, in the current geopolitical environment, resilient supply chains, efficient transport corridors and reliable energy supplies have become strategic priorities.
“Azerbaijan is playing an increasingly important role not only as a reliable energy partner, but also as a key logistics hub connecting regions and markets. The energy sector remains one of the main pillars of our economic cooperation. The diversification of natural gas sources and transportation routes is of great importance for both Slovakia and Europe, and we highly appreciate Azerbaijan's contribution to strengthening our region's energy security,” she said.
She noted that cooperation between the two countries is not limited to the energy sector.
“Slovak companies are already contributing to Azerbaijan's modernization process, and we highly value the opportunity to participate in the reconstruction of Karabakh. The 'Smart Village' project implemented in Garvand village is a clear example of how Slovak technologies and expertise can provide practical solutions that improve people's lives. We also see great opportunities for cooperation in infrastructure, digitalization, industrial production, water management and advanced technologies. Slovakia is a modern industrial country with strong engineering traditions, a highly skilled workforce and growing innovation potential. Our companies offer high value-added solutions and are ready to become reliable partners in Azerbaijan's future development,” Denisa Saková emphasized.
