Ensuring lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus remains one of Ankara's main foreign policy priorities, according to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs' 2026 Action Program, APA reports.
The document states that the normalization process with Armenia will continue in close consultation and coordination with Azerbaijan. At the same time, Türkiye will continue to support the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry noted that support for Azerbaijan will be further strengthened to contribute to resolving conflicts in the South Caucasus and ensuring regional peace and stability.
The document emphasizes that the Türkiye-Armenia and Azerbaijan-Armenia processes should advance in a coordinated manner to ensure long-term stability, prosperity, and security in the region.
The report devotes a separate section to relations with Azerbaijan, noting that the exceptional ties based on a common language, history, culture, and identity will be further strengthened through high-level bilateral contacts.
"Our strategic partnership is intended to contribute to peace, prosperity, and stability in the South Caucasus through bilateral and multilateral initiatives. At the same time, our close coordination and cooperation with Azerbaijan within the framework of regional normalization processes will continue with determination," the document states.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry's Action Program also stresses that Ankara will continue its coordinated efforts with Azerbaijan in 2026 to advance the peace agenda in the South Caucasus.
