Power distribution restrictions will be introduced in Tehran to maintain the stability of the capital's electricity network, APA's Tehran bureau reports.

According to Tehran Electricity Distribution Company, the restrictions will take effect from today in various parts of the capital due to hotter weather and a significant increase in electricity demand.

Earlier, Iran's Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution Company announced that the country's electricity infrastructure had sustained serious damage during the 40-day war.

The company said technical assessments show that Iran's power grid capacity has been reduced by approximately 4,200 megawatts, while more than 2,000 points of the network have been damaged. It added that the destruction has directly affected the stability of electricity supply and the speed of service delivery during peak consumption periods.
