Next ASAIF Forum to be held in Roma

Budapest. APA. Today, “I am a Young Ambassador” ASAIF Forum was held at National Assembly building in Budapest. The Forum started with demonstration of the video roll on ASAIF’s activity, APA reports.
2-day forum is being conducted under “I am a Young Ambassador” slogan.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Hungary Vilayat Guliyev spoke about activity of the students sent abroad for education from the first years of independence. Highly assessing the event in Budapest, the ambassador noted that Azerbaijani Embassy in Hungary works with both Hungarian youth organizations and Azerbaijani students in Hungary. He said that the embassy also engaged in establishment and strengthening relations between Hungarian and Azerbaijani youth organizations.

Istvan Jakab, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary noted that having students in other countries means they study traditions and customs of that country.

In this regard, he said that sending students abroad for education from Azerbaijan and to assemble them in one place is very important. Talking about bilateral relations, Deputy speaker noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary are based on strategic cooperation and friendship. There are regular bilateral cooperation and continuous meetings between two states. Highly assessing inter-parliamentary cooperation I. Jakab noted that inter-parliamentary friendship groups are functioning between two states.He stressed that within Eastern Partnership and integration into NATO, Hungary supports Azerbaijan: "We recognize and support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan."

Addressing the meeting, Minister of Youth and Sport Azad Rahimov spoke of ASAIF, the work carried out by youth, and activities for youth by the the state. The Minister said that Azerbaijan has adopted a program on youth policy, the foundation was established and all these proves care and attention of the state to youth.

Rahimov said that ASAIF forum are an important step for organizing youth and conducting discussions between students studying abroad. The Minister mentioned importance to cooperate with local youth organizations.

The next speaker, the Minister of Education Misir Mardanov said that Azerbaijanis historically was interested to study abroad. Referring to works and reforms in education area in Azerbaijan, Mardanov said that one of the areas of attention to education in our country is an invitation of specialists and attention to study abroad. The Minister stressed that Azerbaijan has adopted a special education program abroad for youth, and this program is under close supervision of the President.M. Mardanov said that Azerbaijan receives applicants on studying abroad in the fields of economics, management, health, medicine and information and communication technologies. According to him, this year 825 students sent abroad for education. The Minister noted that Azerbaijani students are more likely to choose the universities in Turkey, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, France and Canada. Today, 300 Azerbaijani students sent abroad, continue their education in master and doctoral studies.

Speaking at the forum of the Miklós Soltész, State Secretary for Social, Family, and Youth Affairs touched on bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary. He said that relations between the two countries have historical roots and geographical position of the two countries are very similar. Secretary of State reminded that Azerbaijan is at the crossroads of East and West, and Hungary at the junction of Western and Eastern Europe. Informing participants of the forum on the socio-economic situation of Hungary, Miklos Sholtek invited Azerbaijani youth to study in Hungary.
