Glen Howard: “Armenia faced the reality of decrease of population due to demographic and migration problems†- PHOTO

Baku. Victoria Dementieva – APA. A roundtable entitled “Thin tanks: cooperation for development†was hosted by the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Azerbaijan. APA reports that president of the US Jamestown Foundation Glen Howard also participated in the event. The guest and the heads of Baku-based think tanks exchanged view on the activity of their organizations and underlined the necessity to strengthen cooperation between the think tanks.
In his speech, Howard informed about the activity of the Jamestown Foundation. He noted that Azerbaijan played an important geo-strategic role in the region and underlined that our country was a transit country in cargo traffic to Afghanistan. According to him, Azerbaijan pursues multivector policy, develops relations with Russia, US and southern neighbors.
Howard noted that one of the problems of Azerbaijan was related to delivering information about the realities of Nagorno Karabakh conflict after the war: “Today Azerbaijan faced information war on Nagorno Karabakh conflict. There is very strong Armenian lobby in the United States, which has an effect on formation of opinion. The process has started, even if slowly, Azerbaijan can protect this balance and achieves expression of its position in the USâ€.
Glen Howard said that Azerbaijan was successfully developing. He also noted the good demographic situation in the country: “As to Armenia, this country faced the reality of decrease of population due to demographic and migration problemsâ€.
