APA’s Georgian bureau reports that the representatives of the political organizations from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, as well as Ukraine, Moldova, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Romania and France attended the event. MPs from YAP Asef Hajiyev, Malahat Ibrahimgizi and Gulchohra Mammadova represented Azerbaijan in this event. The event was opened by Euronest Vice-President and member of the European Parliament Jacek Saryusz-Wolski and Chairman of Georgian Parliamentary Committee on European Integration, Head of Georgian delegation to Euronest Parliamentary Assembly David Darchiashvili. The event was closed to the press. Darchiashvili told journalists that the forum was held with the participation of working groups and regional political organizations and the preparation to the plenary meeting of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly was discussed at the conference.

Darchiashvili said that Euronest member countries were very active: “As a member of working group I can say that we – Azerbaijani and Georgian delegations closely cooperate and understand each other. We work together for strategic partnership and at the same time for the integration to the Euro Atlantic structures”.

He said that the Armenian MPs would participate in the session of the Euronest PA which will be held in Baku: “It is important for Armenian MPs to participate in this event”.

Asked “Will the occupied Azerbaijani lands be discussed during the Baku meeting?”, he said that this topic would be discussed there: “We discuss this topic in our every meeting. But I must say that the Euronest is not a structure to pass any decisions. This event is a first step and we will strengthen our relations in order to understand each other”.

Azerbaijani MP Malahat Ibrahimgizi told journalists that the Armenian MPs were beware of visiting Baku: “I feel it. The development, tranquility, stability, future prospect of the South Caucasus depends on cooperation of these three countries. If there is any destructive position in the cooperation, it will certainly cause problems. But we must be optimistic. Every peace must be achieved by the negotiations. Let them come. Azerbaijan and Euronest ensured the security of Armenian MPs.

The second session of the Euronest PA will be held in Baku on April 1-4. The Baku Declaration will be adopted at the session.
