Baku. Parvin Abbasov – APA. President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev, who is on a visit to Baku, visited Milli Majlis, the parliament of Azerbaijan, on Friday. According to APA, President Atambayev was welcomed by Speaker Ogtay Asadov and then addressed the Azerbaijani parliament.
Speaking in Turkish, Atambayev said “We are Turks, our fathers and grandfathers were Turksâ€.
Atambayev said Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan passed through hardships. “Our people could save our history and traditions. We were in the track of our fathersâ€.
He cited Heydar Aliyev’s words about the epos of Dede Qorqud and Manas.
President Atambayev spoke in Russian, Turkish and Kyrgyz languages during his speech.
