Ambassador Mammad Ahmadzadeh presents credentials to Uruguayan President Jose Mujica

Press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA that Ahmadzadeh conveyed greetings and best wishes of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to President Mujica. Uruguayan President also sent his greetings and best wishes to President Aliyev.

Ahmadzadeh said that Azerbaijan had ancient and rich historical and cultural heritage. He spoke about our countryâ€™s way after getting its independence, high development indicators, its leading role in the regional cooperation and integration and significance in global energy security. Ahmadzadeh also spoke about our countryâ€™s international influence, our diplomacy, development of the relations with Latin American countries as well as Azerbaijanâ€™s interest to develop relations with Uruguay.

Mujica said that Uruguay and Azerbaijan had wide potential for cooperation and must develop their relations working together and using the existing potential.

They exchanged view on development of bilateral and multilateral relations, especially high level mutual visits, opportunities for cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment. They underlined the importance of development of relations in humanitarian, cultural and sport fields.

They also exchanged view on regional issues, including Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

Ahmadzadeh informed the Uruguayan president about Azerbaijanâ€™s position on the settlement of the conflict.
