German Chamber of Commerce to open in Baku

The document was signed after the meeting of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Guido Westerwelle, who is on a visit to Baku.

According Azerbaijani FM, they discussed bilateral and some regional issues, including Syria, Iranâ€™s nuclear program, the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU, as well as between Azerbaijan and NATO, at the meeting.

German Foreign Minister after the meeting answered questions from journalists. In particular, when asked about the "campaign, which began recently in Germany against Azerbaijan" the minister said that "freedom of the press in Germany is not under control". "But in Germany are different opinions about Azerbaijan. Some estimate the development of Azerbaijan", - he said.

The minister recalled that between Germany and Azerbaijan, there are long-term relationships and Germany was one of the first countries recognized Azerbaijanâ€™s independence: "This shows that we are very close to Azerbaijan", - the minister said.
