Head of Palestinian Presidential Administration: We rely on Azerbaijanâ€™s support for being elected as a full member of the UN

Rabaya told APA that they highly appreciate Azerbaijanâ€™s support for Palestineâ€™s admission to UNESCO. He mentioned that a number of Palestinian officials, including President Mahmoud Abbas visited Azerbaijan.

â€œThese visits were very productive. The Palestinian people highly appreciate this cooperation,â€ he said.

Head of the Presidential Administration said that Palestine is interested in the mutual visits of scientists and businessmen.

â€œThe private sectors of the two countries can cooperate in the future. We would be pleased to see the Azerbaijanis in the sacred places called religious tourism for Muslims and Christians,â€ he said.

Rabaya congratulated Azerbaijan on the election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.

â€œThis is also our victory. We are glad that our friend has been elected as a member of the UN Security Council. We rely on Azerbaijanâ€™s support for being elected as a full member of the UN,â€ he said.

Asked about the conflicts in Azerbaijan and Palestine, head of the administration said they suffered from occupation and violence for a long time.
â€œFinally, we passed a strategic decision that the conflict must be solved only peacefully within the international norms. We consider that the conflicts in other countries will also be solved peacefully. War results only in disasters and destructions. We hope Nagorno Karabakh conflict will also be solved peacefully,â€ he said.

Asked how the Arab Spring will influence the solution of the Middle East conflict, Rabaya said the Arab Spring distracted all attentions, including the attention of the mass media from the Middle East conflict and resulted in the reduction of the financial assistance for Palestine.
â€œWe appreciate the democratic changes and do not interfere in the affairs of the third countries. We have high-level relations with all Arab states, but we do not interfere in their affairs,â€ he said.
