Ziyafet Asgarov: â€œThe French Constitutional Councilâ€™s decision is a result of approach to the issue with a rational mindâ€

They also understood that the adoption of such a law would damage the state basis of Franceâ€, first deputy chairman of Azerbaijani parliament Ziyafet Asgarov told journalists, APA reports. Asgarov said that the Senateâ€™s decision was first of all contrary to the French Constitution and they expected such decision from the Constitutional Council: â€œWe thank people who had a role in adoption of this decision, especially French MPs, who addressed the Constitutional Councilâ€.

Asked about the inactivity of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs on the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict and joining of other international organizations to this process, Asgarov said: â€œThe other international organizations make comments on the issue only by their statement. If the European Union wants to contribute to the fair settlement of the conflict, so what prevents them? What prevents the OSCE and Minsk Group co-chairs in the settlement of the conflict? They must work for the solution of the problem. These organizations must find a political courage and say that Armenia is an aggressor country and occupied Azerbaijani lands, these lands must be liberated. Why donâ€™t they want to solve the problem having enough legal documents? Indeed, these questions must be addressed to them. If this organization wants to be on agenda with its statements and words, certainly, it is of no use. If they really want to help, so let them helpâ€.
