First Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijani Parliament: â€œAzerbaijan will never be a foothold for military strikes against Iranâ€

Baku. Ramil Mammadli â€“ APA. â€œAzerbaijan has good military and political relations with Russia. Sooner or later the US will understand that Armenia is an aggressor and it is not logically right to allocate such funds to Armenia. From the other side, Azerbaijan-US strategic cooperation will be considered in this issue. Anyway, it is wrong to allocate such funds to the invader countryâ€, first deputy chairman of the Azerbaijani parliament Ziyafet Asgarov told journalists asked about US military and financial aid to Armenia, APA reports.

Asgarov also commented on Iranâ€™s protest against Azerbaijan-Israel cooperation and $1.6 bln arms deal: â€œAzerbaijan is an independent country. It is Azerbaijanâ€™s own deal to cooperate with any country in military, political and other spheres. We will not ask anybody about our cooperation with any country in military sphere. Thatâ€™s why it is inappropriate and meaningless for the other countries to intervene in this issueâ€.

Asgarov also said that Azerbaijan will never be a foothold for military strikes against Iran.
