Baku. Viktoria Dementyeva – APA. “The start of the negotiations on visa facilitation is a very important step in the relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union,” European Union’s Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Štefan Füle said at the video-conference, APA reports.

“As a result of the visa facilitation, the visa fee will be dropped from 60 euros to 30-35 euros, no fee will be charged from businessmen, students. Alongside with the agreement on visa facilitation, agreement on readmission will be signed with Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is an economically developed country and we do not see this country as a source of illegal migration. But there may be attempts to migrate from the third countries to Europe through Azerbaijan,” he said.

Answering journalists’ questions Štefan Füle said the crisis will not influence the financing of the programs in the partner countries, including Azerbaijan.
“The European Union is not going to reduce financing, on the contrary intends to increase the funds allocated for the Eastern Partnership countries by 130 million euros.”
