Azay Guliyev: At the meeting with Serzh Sargsyan we did not witness the position that could lead to peace

He said a Lithuanian parliamentarian raised the issue at the meeting of Euronest Parliamentary Assembly with Serzh Sargsyan.

â€œThe parliamentarian asked how the rights of the people displaced from Azerbaijani territories will be protected. Sargsyan evaded the question. We underlined in Yerevan that the Azerbaijani state gives guarantee for the security of Armenians and Azerbaijanis in Nagorno Karabakh. Sargsyan was asked: Can you determine any time frame for the solution of the conflict? Unfortunately, the question was not answered,â€ he said.

He said the Azerbaijani parliamentarians raised the issue before Armenian president for offering conditions for the dialogue with the Armenian community.

â€œThe Azerbaijani delegation refused to visit the monument to the so-called â€œArmenian genocideâ€. After we made speeches, they said they demonstrated hospitality and did not come against us. They wanted to say that we could be punished for our speeches. They often said we are carrying out propaganda. It was an international event, and we could not leave that tribune empty. The Armenians must be informed about Azerbaijanâ€™s position directly through the Azerbaijanis,â€ he said.
