Cemil Çiçek: “Turkish Parliament will discuss the proposal for adoption of a draft law on Khojaly genocideâ€
In his turn, Çiçek noted that he would support the embassy’s events on 20th anniversary of Khojaly genocide, the importance of delivering of information about the Khojaly genocide to the world and informing the faction leaders in the parliament. He said Turkey’s officials were always focusing attention on two issues – Nagorno Karabakh and Northern Cyprus – during their international meetings. He also underlined that the France’s draft law on made-up “Armenian genocide†contradicted to the principles of human rights.
The ambassador said wide events would be organized in various countries and added that Khojaly genocide was recognized in Mexico and Pakistan and the Khojaly issue would be raised in PACE and other organizations and underlined the significance of letter of Azerbaijan-Turkey Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group to its counterparts in Turkish Parliament on recognition of Khojaly genocide, steps taken by Azerbaijan against the adoption of draft law on made-up “Armenian genocide†in France.
Çiçek said that the process in France had a great significance, underlined that the Turkish Parliament would discuss the proposal on adoption of a draft law on Khojaly genocide.
Ambassador thanked Çiçek and invited him to pay official visit to Azerbaijan.
