Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. The meetings of PACE Human Rights, Monitoring and Political Committees will be held in March in Paris, said Head of Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov, APA reports.

Seyidov said that the members of Monitoring Committee would make a report on Azerbaijan. PACE session will also include the discussions on Azerbaijan, said Seyidov. “We support the cooperation with the Council of Europe. But if any forces exert pressure using the theme of human rights, we will say “no””.

Commenting on the statements about creating a problem to the visit of PACE rapporteur Christoph Strässer to Azerbaijan, Seyidov said that Azerbaijan was open and democratic country: “Everyone can come to the country. Those who come as rapporteurs, must have a mandate. The issue on political prisoner in Azerbaijan was excluded from the agenda of the Council of Europe. The question is about the notion of political prisoner in Europe. The rapporteur can arrive in Azerbaijan with this mandate. Today there are forces which want to damage relations between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe. We don’t prevent anyone’s arrival in Azerbaijan. We will not afford an opportunity to those who do not see violation of human rights in other countries, but try to seek it in Azerbaijan”.

Seyidov noted that Azerbaijani delegation prepared a report for recognition of Khojaly genocide in PACE winter session and said that the parliament was conducting work on it within bilateral and international cooperation.
