PSG thrashed Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League match, scoring seven goals

French side Paris Saint-Germain defeated German side Bayer Leverkusen 7-2 in their Champions League third-round match.

The winning team's goals were scored by William Pacho (7th minute), Désiré Doué (41, 45+3), Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (44), Nuno Mendes (50), Ousmane Dembélé (66), and Vitinha (90). Bayer's Aleix Garcia (38, 54) scored. Bayer's Robert Andrich was sent off in the 31st minute, and PSG's Ukrainian player Ilya Zabarnyi received a red card in the 37th minute.

PSG is the reigning Champions League champion. In the 2024/25 season final, they defeated Italian side Inter 5-0 to win the trophy for the first time. Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, who was an unused substitute in the PSG Champions League match against Bayer, was named as the winner.

PSG secured their third consecutive victory this season and lead the standings with nine points after three games. In the first match, the team crushed Italian Atalanta 4-0 at home, and in the second, they beat Spanish Barcelona 2-1 away. Bayer Leverkusen drew 2-2 with Danish Copenhagen in the first leg away from home, and then tied 1-1 with Dutch PSV Eindhoven. Leverkusen has two points and is in 27th place after three games. In the next round, PSG will play German Bayern Munich at home on November 4, and Bayer Leverkusen will face Portuguese Benfica away the following day.
