A scandal broke out during the match between Krasnodar and Akhmat, which was held within the framework of the 11th round of the Russian Premier League, Apasport.az reports.
The captain of the home team and a member of the Armenian national team, Eduard Spertsyan, racially abused the opponent's player, Usman Ndonga.
The 26-year-old defender hit the Armenian player after this insult and was punished with a red card.
In a statement after the game, Spertsyan said that he did not insult Ndonga and did not agree with the allegations.
The 25-year-old midfielder is expected to be suspended for 10 games by the Russian Football Federation for racism.
It should be noted that the match between Krasnodar and Akhmat ended with a 2-0 victory for the home team.
