“Three years ago AFFA president Ramiz Mirzeyev offered me a post of head coach for all national teamsâ€, Azeri football veteran Alekber Mammedov told APA-Sport.
Mammedov stated that he had received the proposal in 2004 when Brazilian expert Carlos Alberto Torres was assigned head coach of Azeri squad. Necertheless, he didn’t accept it.
“I rejected the proposal stating there was neither training camp nor field. It is impossible to succeed by training in the stadiums of Edliyye and State traffic Police Departmentâ€, he said.
Mammedov noted that Mashtaga is a convenient place to build a base for the national team. /APA-Sport/
