The winner of Azerbaijan cup was determined after the final match between Khazar-Lankaran and MKT-Araz which took place May 28 in Tofig Bahramov stadium, APA-Sport reports.
Khazar-Lankaran won its first cup with 1-0 victory over the rival. 21-year-old midfielder Reshad Kerimov scored the victory goal at the end of second half. The team won both national championship and cup and finished the season with gold double. Former Neftchi players Kazbek Tuayev, Mubariz Zeynalov, Yashar Babayev and Valeri HadjÄ±yev presented awards to the club.
Khazar-Lankaran is the fourth team after Garabagh, Kepez and Neftchi that scored gold double. Head coach Agaselim Mirjavadov is the only trainer who achieved the success following gold double with Garabagh in 1993. /APA-Sport/
