FC Olimpik midfielder Vidadi Rzayev has given up career. 40-year-old told APA-Sport that he has already made the decision.
“I wanted to give up career last year but I changed my mind. Head coach Asger Abdullayev asked me then to stay for a year. Now my decision is firm and I have already expressed my will to the club leadership. I would like to play a farewell match if possible”, he said.
Rzayev played last match in the national championship in Gakh against FC Simurg. He scored last goal in this match.
“We won over Simurg 3-0 in Shefa stadium in first rotation. I was very glad for victory in may last play. The visit match with the team ended in 2-2 draw”, he said.
Before playing for FC Olimpik in last two years, Rzayev took part in Turan, Neftchi, Kepez, Shemkir, Garabagh, as well as Russian club Terek, Turkish Erzurumspor and Iranian Miss-Kerman. He won gold medals in 7 national championships in Turan, Neftchi, Kepez and Shemkir. With his goal to Switzerland in 31 August 1996 in Tofig Bahramov stadium our national team gained first victory in official matches. /APA-Sport/a
