In the first quarter of 2025, the value of transport services provided by Azerbaijani residents to non-residents amounted to 788.9 million US dollars, while the value of transport services provided by non-residents to Azerbaijani residents was 460.6 million US dollars, APA-Economics reports, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
63.1% of the total transport services, worth 1.2 billion US dollars, were related to the use of Azerbaijan’s transport services by non-residents.
It was noted that in the first quarter of 2025, the total volume of services in Azerbaijan’s economic relations with foreign countries amounted to 4.7 billion US dollars. Of this, 2.7 billion US dollars were services provided by non-residents to Azerbaijani residents, and 2 billion US dollars were services provided by Azerbaijani residents to non-residents. Overall, the services balance deficit increased by 36.3% to 0.7 billion US dollars. The services balance deficit in the oil and gas sector (mainly construction services and other business services) amounted to 375.3 million US dollars. The services balance deficit in the non-oil and gas sector was 377.5 million US dollars. Transport services accounted for 26.7% of the total mutual services turnover.
