Iran has recently allocated significant funds to road and railway infrastructure, Masoumeh Aghapour, adviser to the Iranian President on economic cooperation issues, told APA’s Tehran correspondent.

The adviser to the Iranian President said that positive changes have taken place in the area of customs checkpoints after the war, some regulations have been amended to facilitate work, and greater attention has been paid to non-oil exports.

According to her, good work has also been carried out in bringing non-oil products to market.

Masoumeh Aghapour noted that after the current problems are resolved and the sanctions imposed on the Iranian economy are lifted, attention to non-oil exports, as well as technology- and knowledge-based sectors, should be increased several times.

Aghapour also touched upon accelerating financing for the completion of the Astara section of the North-South Corridor. She emphasized that the East-West Corridor is currently also among the important issues receiving special attention.

“Positive developments are expected at border customs checkpoints,” the adviser to the Iranian President said.

She added that although some threats may complicate the situation, many producers currently standing on the front line of the economic war have managed to ensure the domestic production of some products that were previously imported into the country.
