"We see that war does not end even after the guns fall silent," Professor Timur Gültekin, a lecturer at the Department of Anthropology at Ankara University, told journalists in Khojaly, APA's Karabakh bureau reports.

He stated that encountering the painful consequences of war, the losses, and families who are still suffering from this pain causes great sadness.

The professor noted that leaders and politicians should take into account the possible consequences of war when making decisions about the future:

"We see how difficult it is to destabilize a region and then ensure its recovery."

Note that participants of the 4th international conference on "Strengthening Trust and Developing Effective Mechanisms in Addressing the Issue of Missing Persons," held within the framework of the "Baku Dialogue" on Missing Persons and organized by the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, also visited the Khojaly Memorial Complex as part of their trip to Karabakh.
