Volume of foreign card transactions exceeded AZN 3.3 billion in Azerbaijan last year

Last year, the volume of foreign transactions carried out with debit and credit cards in circulation in Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 3 billion 303 million, APA-Economics made calculations based on information from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

This indicator increased by 2.9% or AZN 92 million manat compared to the previous year.

In 2024, AZN 3 billion 141 million (5%) of foreign transactions with cards were related to non-cash payments, and AZN 161 million was related to cash withdrawals.

It should be noted that during the reporting period, the volume of foreign transactions with debit cards amounted to AZN 2 billion 971 million, and the volume of these transactions with credit cards amounted to AZN 332 million.

It should be noted that as of January 1, 2025, the number of debit cards in the country was 17 million 642 thousand, and the number of credit cards was 2 million 256 thousand. The volume of domestic transactions with these cards amounted to AZN 122 billion 892 million.
