"The Iranian president tries to bring our economic relations with Azerbaijan to the level of cultural and political relations,” Iranian government spokesperson Ali Rabi told APA.
Rabii said that historical ties between Azerbaijan and Iran, culture, religion, and mutual language factors has lead to building relations between the two neighbouring and fraternal countries on the basis of mutual respect: “ The serious will of official Baku and Tehran on the settlement of the conflict in the region and strengthening of stability has also enhanced bilateral synergy and rapprochement.”
Noting economic relations between the two countries increased significantly, Rabi stated that the trade volume of the two countries has increased by 40%. In the first half of 2019, trade turnover between the two countries increased by 2,2 times in comparison to the previous year.
He stated that the president of the two countries stressed that economic potential between our countries is more: "Astara railroad connection will stimulate the development of economic relations and bring relations closer.”
