Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has revealed an inflation prognosis, APA-Economics reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
Noted that generally, current monetary policy is addressed for keeping inflation within the target range and stabilizing inflation expectations. In the framework of current policy, over the basis scenario, annual inflation is predicted to be within target (4±2%) in 2025 and 2026. So according to the updated predictions in January 2025, annual inflation is expected to be 5,5% in the current year, while approximately 3,8% in 2026.
“Upcoming decisions related to parameters of interest rate corridor is going to depend on the actual and predicted inflation, dynamic of the external and internal risk factors. The Central Bank by the mandate identified in the legislation, will use all the ways at its disposal to provide price stability. If inflation pressures decrease and inflation expectations are stable, decreasing the parameters of interest rate corridors can be reviewed. Besides this, the Central Bank related to managing the inflation target, will properly respond in case of implementation of possible risks,” CBA said.
