A current account surplus of USD 5.5 billion is forecasted this year, APA-Economics reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
According to the report, a positive balance of USD 5.5 billion was recorded in the foreign trade balance in 2024, which is the main component of the current account balance of payments. Under these circumstances, stability was maintained in the foreign exchange market in 2024, and the demand for currency was fully met in all auctions held by the Central Bank. The forecasted surplus in the current account (USD 5.5 billion) gives reason to expect that stability will be ensured in the foreign exchange market in 2025.
