The volume of domestic non-cash payments made via debit and credit cards in Azerbaijan in 2024 amounted to AZN 78 billion 882 million, APA-Economics made calculations based on data from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the reports, this indicator increased by 60.9% or AZN 29.8 billion compared to the previous year.
Last year, AZN 66 billion 515 million (84.3%) of domestic non-cash payments made via cards fell to e-commerce, which is 69.8% or AZN 27.3 billion manat more in comparison with 2023.
During the reporting period, AZN 12 billion 274 million of the aforementioned non-cash payments were made through POS terminals, AZN 83 million through self-service terminals, and AZN 10 million through ATMs.
It should be noted that as of January 1, 2025, the number of debit cards in the country was 17 million 642 thousand, and the number of credit cards was 2 million 256 thousand.
