Azerbaijan takes first place by gold and currency reserves per capita among CIS countries

During January-November of this year, in Azerbaijan, the volume of gold and currency reserves per capita amounted to US$ 4,890, which is the highest recorded indicator among CIS countries, "APA-Economics" reports citing the summary published by "banki24" publication of Belarus.

By this indicator, Azerbaijan has left behind such CIS countries as Kazakhstan (US$ 4,790) and Russia (US$ 3,690). This indicator amounted to US$ 1,030 in Moldova, US$ 970 in Belarus, US$ 840 in Uzbekistan, US$ 800 in Armenia, US$ 605 in Ukraine, and US$ 350 in Kyrgyzstan.

It is also noted in the summary that Russia (US$ 542 bln.) and Kazakhstan (US$ 89.1 bln.) possess the largest total gold and currency reserves among CIS countries.

During the reporting year, the total gold and currency reserves of Azerbaijan increased by 11.4% as compared with the same period of the last year and reached US$ 49.2 bln. By this indicator, Azerbaijan took the 3rd place in the CIS after Russia and Kazakhstan.
