Azerbaijan carries out 94% of foreign trade with faraway nations

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover with 134 nations during January-August totaled $42 209.2 million, including exports of $37 703.5 million and imports of $4 505.7 million, said the State Statistical Committee.
The trade surplus was $33 197.8 million.
Compared to the same period last year, foreign trade turnover rose 5.7 times, imports grew by 31.9% and exports increased by 9.4 times.
Azerbaijan carried out 54.2% of the trade (28% of imports and 57.3% of exports) with the European Union.
Trade with GUAM countries reached $864.9 million, including imports of $404.4 million and exports of $460.5 million.
The country’s main trade partners included Italy (36.9%), the United States (11.6%), Israel (6.6%), India (4.7%), France (4.4%), Spain (2.9%), the Netherlands (2.8%), Russia (2.8%), the United Kingdom (2.7%), Indonesia (2.7%), Turkey (2.4%) and other countries 19.5%.
The country did 94% of foreign trade, including 97.3% of exports and 66.7% of imports with faraway countries.
Trade with the CIS countries reached $2 513.3 million, including imports of $1 501.8 million and exports of $1 011.5 million
