Baku. Kamala Guliyeva – APA. “National Television and Radio Council also plans to open new cultural TV channel in Azerbaijan. However opening a new channel is not easy,” Chairman of National Television and Radio Council Nushiravan Maharramli told APA. He said that it was not exactly known when the cultural channel would be opened.
“It requires a great deal of money. Therefore there is a need for state support,” he said.

The proposals of the National Television and Radio Council on reducing price of the license granted to regional channels.
“The channels in the capital, in the regions and cable television pay AZN 11,000 to get license. This is not right. A channel in Tovuz or Mingachevir should not pay the same price for the license as a channel in the capital. The Government should pay attention to this issue,” he said.

National Television and Radio Council offers to set price for license of the channels covering the entire territory of the republic at AZN 20,000 and AZN 3,000 – 5,000 for regional channels.
