Ziyad Samedzade: GDP per capita will double in Azerbaijan in five years

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-Economics. Ziyad Samedzade, the chairman of the parliamentary commission on economic policy, has today met with the members of the Caspian Integration Business Club (CIBC).
The CIBC President Telman Aliyev briefed him about the Club, saying it joins a number of well-known companies based in the CIS region and Europe.
In his speech, Samedzade dwelled on the economic trends in Azerbaijan.
According to him, the country created good conditions and a legislative framework for free business.
Â«By the end of this year, GDP per capita will reach US$5 600. Over the next five years this figure will reach US$10 000, Â» he said.
He noted that domestic investment keep increasing and will soon exceed foreign investment.
Alekber Mammedov, President of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation, said that over 400 legal and individual bodies are doing business in the country.
A CIBC Honorary Membership Certificate was awarded to Ziyad Samedzade at the end of the meeting.
