Azerbaijan collects nearly 35.3 mln premiums on compulsory car insurance in Q1

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev – APA-Economics. Within June, 2012, AZN 6.1 mln premiums were collected on compulsory car insurance, the Compulsory Insurance Bureau told APA.
During this period, 76.5 thousand contracts were signed on compulsory insurance of civil responsibility of vehicle owners and 19.8 thousand of these were signed for a month and related with cars registered in abroad and imported to Azerbaijan via transit.
In total, since December 2011 till July 1, 2012, about 465.4 thousand contracts were signed on compulsory insurance of civil responsibility of vehicle owners. The amount of premiums on those contracts was AZN 35.3 mln.
Note that, the Bureau has been in operation since end of last year.
Currently, the Bureau includes – Pasha Sigorta, Standard Insurance, Azersigorta, AXA-Mbask, Silk Way Insurance, Ateshgah Sigorta, AtaSigorta, Xalg Sigorta, AzSigorta, Alfa Sigorta and Mega Sigorta.
