"We held a very productive meeting today," Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said following his meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, APA's Tehran bureau reports.
He emphasized the importance of strategic relations between the two countries.
Araghchi said that strategic relations between Iran and Russia have entered a new phase following the entry into force of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement.
"Today, we discussed regional and international developments. We reviewed practical ways to expand political, cultural, and trade ties within the framework of bilateral relations. Economic cooperation is developing at a good pace," he noted.
According to the minister, during today's intensive talks, a detailed and constructive exchange of views was held on numerous issues of mutual interest within the framework of bilateral relations between Tehran and Moscow, major developments in the region, and changes taking place in the international arena.
Araghchi emphasized that Iran, Russia, and many other countries share the position that regional problems cannot be resolved through military means. He also stated that the current security situation is a direct result of what he described as US and Israeli military aggression against Iran, which began on February 28 and continues in various forms.
"We have serious concerns about attacks on Iranian and Russian vessels in the Caspian Sea," Araghchi added.
