Azerbaijan-UAE military cooperation is discussed

Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan Colonel General Zakir Hasanov received the Chief of the General Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Defense told APA.
Colonel General Zakir Hasanov positively assessed the current state of military cooperation between the two countries and emphasized the importance of further expanding these ties. Referring to the “Falcons Meet – 2026” joint tactical flight exercise, the Minister noted that such exercises will contribute to strengthening Azerbaijan-UAE military relations and developing the two armies.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality, Lieutenant General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei highlighted the importance of joint exercises and bilateral visits in facilitating the exchange of experience.
Then, the First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army Colonel General Karim Valiyev met with his UAE counterpart.
During the meeting held at the General Staff, Colonel General Karim Valiyev commended the activities of servicemen participating in the “Falcons Meet – 2026” joint tactical flight exercise held in Azerbaijan.
Lieutenant General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei highlighted the opportunities for further strengthening Azerbaijan-UAE relations.
The sides held an extensive exchange of views on the current state and prospects for the development of military cooperation between the two countries, as well as regional security and other issues of mutual interest.
Following the meetings, the delegation visited the Air Force Combined Air Operations Center and received detailed information on its activities.
